Site Agent - Wastewater & Storm Overflow Schemes | Exeter & Lyme Regis
Do you want your next project to visibly improve the coastline and rivers of the South West? This role puts you in charge of schemes that stop sewage reaching the sea at Lyme Regis and protect waterways around Exeter.
Carrington West is partnering with a respected civils contractor that holds a multi-year framework with a major water utility. The programme has three goals: cut storm overflow discharges, bring ageing treatment works up to modern standards, and help local networks cope with heavier rainfall and a changing climate.
You'll run sites across Exeter and Lyme Regis. Your work will include overflow storage, network upgrades and treatment plant improvements, all backed by a funded pipeline with years of work ahead.
You'll be the person who makes it happen on the ground.
Day to day, you'll:
·Set the safety culture on site and keep every operation compliant
·Plan the work: programmes, two-week look-aheads, resources and labour
·Look after quality through ITPs, quality plans and clear handover records
·Coordinate temporary works, lifting plans and permits to work
·Get the best from subcontractors, from appointment through to sign-off
·Keep tabs on cost, feed into monthly reports and protect margin
·Keep site diaries, risk logs and as-built information in order
·Be the client's go-to contact and keep the local community onside
·Coach and develop engineers and supervisors coming through
What you'll bring: a solid track record running civils sites as an Agent or senior Site Manager. Water, wastewater or utilities experience is a real advantage. You'll also need sound commercial instincts, confidence with stakeholders and a hands-on, problem-solving mindset.
Tickets needed: SMSTS, CSCS, NVQ Level 6 (Site Management), TWC/ TWS , HSG47 cable avoidance, SEATS.
