School Caretaker - St Albans, Hertfordshire - £90 - £140 per day - Immediate Start
Temporary, full-time | Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm | Until February half term (extension expected)
Tradewind Secondary are looking for a reliable, hands-on Caretaker to join the site team at one of our partner secondary schools in St Albans, Hertfordshire. The role starts as soon as possible and runs for a minimum of 6 weeks, with work expected through to February half term and a strong likelihood of extension.
What you'll be doing
Opening and locking up school buildings
General maintenance, minor repairs and DIY tasks
Health & safety checks and keeping the site compliant
Monitoring site security and reporting issues
Liaising with school staff and contractors
Setting up rooms and supporting school events
Keeping the site safe, tidy and presentable [add "including some cleaning duties" if applicable]What you'll need
Previous caretaking, facilities or maintenance experience (school experience is a bonus, not essential)
Availability to start now, full-time, until at least February half term
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (we can arrange this)
Right to work in the UK and two references
A practical, problem-solving approach and good health & safety awareness
Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work on your own initiative
Desirable: manual handling, COSHH, working at height or first aid certificatesWhat's on offer
£95 - £140 per day, paid weekly on PAYE (No umbrella company fees!)
Regular daytime hours, Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm [plus possible overtime]
