About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, hard working and practical Caretaker to join our team at a primary school based in Handsworth.
The successful candidate will help ensure the school premises are safe, secure, clean and well maintained, providing a welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities

Opening and closing the school premises.

Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs.

Ensuring the school grounds and buildings are clean, tidy and safe.

Completing regular health and safety checks.

Setting up rooms and moving furniture when required.

Monitoring site security and reporting any concerns.

Assisting with deliveries and contractors.

Supporting the day-to-day running of the school site.
Essential Requirements
-
Must be able to drive and hold a full, valid UK driving licence.

Previous caretaking or maintenance experience would be desirable.

Good practical and DIY skills.

Reliable, punctual and hard working.
-
Able to work independently and use initiative.

Flexible and willing to support the needs of the school.
Safeguarding
The successful applicant will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check and relevant safeguarding checks.
