Job Title: Sheet Metal Sales Estimator
Location: Walsall
Pay Rates: £40,000 - £50,000 + Comms
Shift Patterns: Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 17:00 & Friday 08:00 - 14:00
We're looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Estimator to join our clients growing team.
This isn't your typical sales job. There's no cold calling, no chasing leads and no hard selling. They have plenty of incoming enquiries and a healthy pipeline of work. What we need is someone who knows the sheet metal industry, understands how to price jobs properly and genuinely enjoys getting stuck into a busy estimating role.
If you're someone who doesn't mind working through a stack of enquiries, reading engineering drawings, working out costs and turning quotes around efficiently, this could be exactly what you're looking for.
Job duties
You'll be responsible for managing incoming customer enquiries and producing accurate, competitive quotations across a wide range of sheet metal fabrication work.
Reviewing customer enquiries and interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings.
Preparing detailed quotations and pricing jobs accurately.
Calculating costs for materials, labour, processes and subcontracted operations.
Pricing work involving press brakes, punching, welding, fabrication and in-house assembly.
Obtaining and allowing for subcontracted processes such as powder coating, galvanising and other finishing requirements.
Using an internal CRM system to manage enquiries, prepare quotes and keep everything organised.
Responding to customers, following up on enquiries and keeping communication clear and professional.
Working closely with the production team to understand processes, timings and manufacturing requirements.
Managing a busy workload with multiple enquiries and quotations coming through every day.What we're looking for
Ideally, you'll come from a sheet metal manufacturing or fabrication background and have previous experience in an estimating or quoting role.
You'll understand how sheet metal jobs are manufactured, be comfortable reading technical drawings and know what goes into putting an accurate price together.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who:
Has genuine sheet metal industry experience.
Knows how to estimate and quote fabrication work.
Is confident interpreting engineering drawings.
Understands manufacturing processes and associated costs.
Is organised and comfortable handling a high volume of enquiries.
Takes pride in producing accurate, timely quotations.
Communicates well with customers and colleagues.
Is approachable, reliable and enjoys being part of a team.
You don't need to be a hard-nosed salesperson. We want someone who knows their stuff, enjoys dealing with customers and is happy doing what they do best: producing great quotations and helping win good business.
