Business Analyst - Field Service Management Software
£40,000-£55,000 | Home-based | Company office in Sheffield
Do you know how field service teams schedule engineers, manage service contracts and track jobs through to completion? An established UK ERP software vendor is looking for a Business Analyst to turn that operational knowledge into improvements to its own software.
You'll work directly with customers and developers, taking requirements from the initial conversation through to a specification the development team can build from. You'll stay involved during development, helping resolve questions and checking that the finished changes support the way customers work.
What you'll do
Gather requirements and map field service workflows, including engineer scheduling, job allocation, service contracts and back-office processes.
Write detailed functional specifications that cover screen behaviour, business rules, data requirements and exceptions.
Work with developers on new features, improvements to existing workflows and fixes for live software issues.
Help decide whether a requirement can be met through existing functionality, needs a customer-specific change or could benefit other customers as a core product enhancement.
Review completed changes against the original requirements. What you'll bring
Experience with field service management software in business analysis, implementation, application support or a similar role.
Experience gathering requirements and writing clear, detailed specifications that developers can follow.
The ability to speak with users about how they work and ask the questions that uncover exceptions and missing details.
An interest in how software is designed. Familiarity with ERP, UI design, databases or SQL would be useful. If you're a field service software consultant looking for less client travel and more involvement in product development, this is a chance to use your implementation experience to shape the software itself.
Apply with your CV, highlighting the field service software you've worked with and any examples of requirements you've taken through to development
