I’m currently supporting a client with the recruitment of a Housing Support Officer to join a busy supported accommodation service working with young people.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about empowering individuals to build confidence, develop life skills, and move towards greater independence.
Key duties include:

Providing practical and emotional support to young people within supported accommodation

Building positive relationships and encouraging engagement with education, employment, and personal goals

Completing support, risk, and eligibility assessments for new referrals

Assisting with move-ins, property readiness, and reducing void turnaround times

Carrying out regular property visits and welfare checks

Supporting residents to understand and meet occupancy expectations
-
Working alongside external professionals and support services to achieve positive outcomes

Maintaining accurate records, support notes, and tenancy-related documentation
Ideal candidate:
-
Previous experience within housing, supported living, youth work, or a similar support setting

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Confident using IT systems and maintaining accurate records
-
Ability to build rapport with vulnerable young people and encourage positive engagement

Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a wider team
