Working Hours: Monday to Friday, with an early finish at 1:00 pm every Friday

We are currently recruiting for a Buyer to join an established engineering business based in Pershore. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with purchasing experience who is looking to join a professional, well-established organisation offering a competitive salary and a great work-life balance.
Working within a busy engineering environment, you will play an important role in ensuring materials, components and services are sourced efficiently, competitively and in line with business requirements.

The Role
As a Buyer, your responsibilities will include:

Managing purchasing activities to ensure materials and components are available when required.

Sourcing new suppliers and maintaining strong relationships with existing suppliers.

Requesting and comparing quotations to secure competitive pricing.

Raising and processing purchase orders.
-
Monitoring supplier performance, delivery schedules and lead times.

Liaising with internal departments to understand purchasing requirements.

Negotiating pricing, payment terms and delivery arrangements where appropriate.

Monitoring stock levels and helping to prevent shortages or unnecessary expenditure.

Resolving supplier queries and delivery issues efficiently.

Maintaining accurate purchasing records and ensuring relevant documentation is up to date.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:

Previous experience in a Buyer, Purchasing or Procurement role.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Excellent organisation and attention to detail.

Good commercial awareness and an understanding of cost control.

The ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy working environment.

Confidence using computer systems and Microsoft Office.

A proactive approach to problem-solving and supplier management.
Experience purchasing engineering components, manufacturing materials or industrial products would be advantageous.
