Afternoon Shift: 2:00pm – 10:00pm, Monday to Friday.
Night Shift: 10:00pm – 6:00am, Monday to Friday.
Both shifts are set patterns, offering consistency and routine throughout the working week.
The Business
Our client is an established business operating within the print and production industry, specialising in producing high-quality printed materials for a wide range of customers.
With a focus on quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction, the business relies on a dedicated production team to ensure printed products are finished to specification, carefully packaged and ready for dispatch.
Due to ongoing production requirements, they are looking to recruit reliable and motivated Finishing Operatives to join their team at their Cramlington facility.
The Role
As a Finishing Operative, you will play an important role in the final stages of the printing process, ensuring products are finished to a high standard and prepared for delivery to customers.
Working within a fast-paced production environment, your responsibilities will include:
Operating finishing machinery to cut, crease, fold, trim and bind printed materials to customer specifications.
Inspecting finished products to ensure quality, accuracy and consistency.
Packing and preparing completed print jobs for dispatch, ensuring orders are correctly labelled and protected.
Loading materials into machinery and monitoring production processes to maintain an efficient workflow.
Carrying out routine cleaning and basic maintenance of finishing equipment.
Identifying and reporting printing defects, damaged materials or machinery faults to supervisors.
Following job sheets and production instructions to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time.
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment in line with health and safety procedures.
Working towards daily production targets while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
Collaborating with printing and production teams to meet deadlines and fulfil customer orders.
Handling printed materials carefully to prevent damage during processing, packing and storage.
Monitoring material levels and reporting stock shortages when required.
The Person

To be successful in this role, you should have:
Previous experience in print finishing, production, manufacturing or warehousing is desirable but not essential.
Good attention to detail and the ability to identify defects and maintain high-quality standards.
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines and targets.
Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination when handling materials and operating machinery.
The ability to follow job sheets, written instructions and production procedures accurately.
A reliable, punctual and hardworking attitude.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills and a willingness to learn new processes.
An awareness of workplace health and safety, including the safe operation of machinery.
The physical ability to stand for extended periods and carry out repetitive tasks.
A flexible and proactive approach to daily duties, maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
