The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced General Foreman to join a highways scheme in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term contract, with 12 months of work available and an immediate start for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Overseeing day-to-day site operations across highways and civil engineering works.
Supervising gangs, subcontractors and site operatives to ensure works are completed efficiently.
Coordinating labour, plant, materials and resources to meet programme requirements.
Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications and method statements.
Maintaining high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
Conducting toolbox talks, site briefings and regular safety inspections.
Monitoring progress on site and reporting updates, delays and issues to the Site Manager or Project Manager.
Ensuring Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are followed.
Liaising with Site Engineers, Site Managers and other project stakeholders.
Maintaining accurate site records and ensuring work is completed to the required standard.

Requirements

Proven experience working as a General Foreman on highways or civil engineering projects.
Strong knowledge of highways construction and site operations.
Experience managing site gangs, subcontractors and plant.
Good understanding of health and safety procedures and site documentation.
Relevant CSCS card.
SSSTS or SMSTS certification, as required by the project.
Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple site activities.
Available to start at short notice.
