The Opportunity
We're recruiting an experienced Fire Alarm Designer to join a specialist engineering team delivering fire, security and life safety solutions across critical infrastructure.
You'll work on technically complex projects across sectors including water, energy, defence, transport and telecommunications, developing compliant designs that protect essential assets.
Hybrid working is available.
Key Responsibilities

Design fire alarm and detection systems to meet project specifications and relevant standards.

Produce detector layouts, loop drawings, panel layouts and cause-and-effect matrices.

Develop PA/VA and associated life safety system designs.

Ensure compliance with relevant standards, including BS 5839, BS 7671 and BS 7273.

Produce technical documentation, including URS and FDS.

Coordinate with engineering, project delivery and client teams.

Review designs for technical accuracy, compliance and installation suitability.
About You
-
Proven experience designing fire alarm, detection or life safety systems.

Good knowledge of relevant industry standards and legislation.

Experience with PA/VA, fire suppression or fire stopping systems is advantageous.

Familiarity with BIM and 3D models.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.

ONC, HNC, degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
