Business Development Executive
Milton Keynes
£28,000–£32,000 basic, depending on experience, plus quarterly bonuses
OTE: £35,000–£42,000
I’m working with a technology business in Milton Keynes that’s looking for someone to join its business development team.
This role would suit someone who enjoys building relationships, has a commercial mindset and wants to develop their career. You might already have experience in sales or account management, or you could be working in a customer-facing role and looking for the next step.
You’ll work closely with the Head of Business Development, getting involved in everything from looking after customer relationships to spotting new opportunities and helping grow the business. There’s plenty to learn, and as you gain experience, you’ll have the chance to manage your own accounts and work towards a Business Development Manager position.
What will you be doing?
Building relationships with customers, suppliers and manufacturers.
Keeping in touch with existing accounts and identifying opportunities to grow business.
Researching potential new opportunities and keeping an eye on market trends.
Helping prepare proposals and presentations.
Responding to enquiries and making sure customers receive a good service.
Keeping customer details and sales opportunities up to date on the CRM system.
Working with colleagues across sales, marketing, technical and operations.
Helping track sales activity and report on progress. What are they looking for?
You don’t need to have done this exact job before, but some experience in sales, account management or a customer-focused role would be useful.
You’ll need to be comfortable speaking to people, organised and happy to get stuck in. A genuine interest in technology would be a bonus, particularly IT hardware or software, but there’s support available to help you learn the products and the market.
Good IT skills are important, and experience with a CRM system would be helpful. You’ll also need a full UK driving licence.
What’s on offer?
£28,000–£32,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
Quarterly bonuses, with an OTE of £35,000–£42,000.
20 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, increasing by one day per year up to 25 days.
Company pension scheme.
Training and support from an experienced manager.
The chance to develop your skills and progress into a more senior role.
An employee-owned business where people are encouraged to contribute and share in its success. Interested?
