A North West Local Authority is seeking an experienced Trading Standards Officer to join their team on an interim basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to support a busy and collaborative service, undertaking a varied caseload across a range of Trading Standards functions, including consumer protection, fair trading, product safety, underage sales, and business compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver frontline Trading Standards enforcement and advisory work.

Investigate complaints and undertake compliance visits.

Conduct inspections, investigations and enforcement activities in accordance with relevant legislation.

Prepare reports, witness statements and enforcement documentation where required.

Provide advice and guidance to local businesses and members of the public.
Requirements:

Previous experience working within a Local Authority Trading Standards service.

Trading Standards qualification (DCATS/DTS or equivalent).

Proven experience handling a broad range of Trading Standards matters.

Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and enforcement procedures.

Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload.
Desirable:
- Animal Feed qualification and experience would be highly desirable and considered a significant advantage.
