Digital Transformation Director
Location: Southend, Essex – Hybrid Working (UK-wide travel required)
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer
The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced Digital Transformation Director to join an established organisation undergoing a significant period of business development and transformation. This is a newly created senior leadership position, reporting directly to the CEO, with responsibility for shaping and delivering the organisation's digital transformation strategy.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring technology, digital systems and data are used effectively to support these objectives. This is a strategic leadership position rather than a hands-on technical role. We are looking for someone who can understand complex business challenges, identify opportunities for improvement and deliver meaningful change across a large organisation.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and lead the organisation's digital transformation strategy, ensuring alignment with wider business objectives.

Work closely with the CEO and Executive Team to identify and prioritise digital investment and improvement opportunities.

Lead major digital transformation and technology-enabled change programmes across multiple business functions.

Improve operational efficiency through automation, system integration and more effective use of data.

Ensure digital investment delivers measurable improvements in performance, profitability and service delivery.

Support the development of new services and operating models through effective digital solutions.

Reduce duplication across systems and processes, improving consistency and collaboration between departments.

Establish clear priorities, governance and performance measures for transformation programmes.

Work with senior stakeholders across the organisation to ensure successful implementation and adoption of change.

Support longer-term business growth through scalable and sustainable digital solutions.
Skills and Experience
We are looking for an established senior digital or transformation leader who can demonstrate:

Significant experience leading large-scale digital transformation or technology-enabled change programmes.

Previous experience working at Director, Executive or equivalent senior leadership level.

A proven track record of delivering measurable operational improvements, cost efficiencies or commercial benefits.

Experience working within complex, multi-site or service-led organisations.

Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to assess investment priorities and demonstrate return on investment.

Experience improving business processes through automation, digital systems and data.

The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Strong leadership, stakeholder management and change management skills.

Experience working closely with executive teams and influencing strategic business decisions.

A practical and collaborative approach, with the ability to lead people through significant organisational change.
