Job Description – School Caretaker | Slough
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking and experienced School Caretaker to maintain the safety, cleanliness and general upkeep of a school site in Slough. The ideal candidate will have strong maintenance experience, a practical hands-on approach and the ability to work independently while supporting the wider school team.
Key Responsibilities:

Carry out general maintenance, minor repairs and basic DIY tasks across the school premises.

Ensure classrooms, corridors, toilets, outdoor areas and communal spaces are safe, clean and well maintained.

Conduct regular site inspections and report any maintenance issues, hazards or security concerns.

Assist with opening and closing the school, including securing buildings and checking access points.

Support health and safety procedures and ensure the school environment remains safe for pupils, staff and visitors.

Move furniture, set up rooms and assist with school events when required.

Monitor maintenance supplies and report any equipment or repair requirements.

Respond promptly to maintenance requests and carry out additional caretaking duties as needed.
Requirements:

Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or caretaking.

Full UK driving licence.

Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service.

Good practical skills, a proactive attitude and strong attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Available to start immediately.
