Help people start their journey with Avenues on the right foot!
We’re looking for an organised, proactive and people-focused Onboarding Coordinator to join our Onboarding team on a 6-months contract.
Our Onboarding team works as part of the wider People Compliance Team (HR).
If you enjoy bringing order to a busy workload, have a keen eye for detail and love helping people get off to a great start, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Your role will help ensure our new colleagues are ready to join them!
What’s in it for you?
Hybrid working: Work from home, with currently 1–2 days per week at our Sidcup office.
A great work-life balance.
A supportive team: Join a collaborative Onboarding department where your contribution matters.
Meaningful work: Play a key role in ensuring new colleagues have a smooth, positive and compliant start to their Avenues journey.
What will you be doing?
Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, you’ll help deliver a first-class onboarding experience for our new employees, ensuring everything is in place for them to join us.
Your responsibilities will include:
Coordinating the onboarding journey: Manage the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring all activities are completed in line with organisational policies and procedures.
Keeping everything on track: Provide proactive administrative support to key operational areas, ensuring the necessary pre-employment checks are completed and legal and statutory requirements are met.
Supporting our managers: Offer clear advice and guidance to managers and colleagues on onboarding processes, escalating more complex queries to the People Compliance Manager.
Maintaining accurate records: Manage and maintain the onboarding area of our Applicant Tracking System, ensuring information is accurate, up to date and readily accessible.
Putting people first: Understand our organisation, the services we provide and our values, helping us bring the right people into our teams.
You’ll ideally bring experience of employee onboarding within a medium-sized organisation, or experience in a similar administrative role.
You’ll also have:
An understanding of UK and European employment legislation.
Experience using databases to store, manage and retrieve information.
Confidence using Microsoft Office applications in a professional environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels.
Strong organisational skills, a proactive approach and the ability to prioritise your workload and meet deadlines.
Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when handling employee information and compliance checks.
Experience in social care or education would be an advantage.
Most importantly, you’ll enjoy supporting others, take pride in getting things right and understand the importance of a smooth, professional onboarding experience.
Please refer to the role profile for the full responsibilities and essential and desirable criteria for the position.
