About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, conscientious and hardworking Cleaner to join our premises team and help maintain a clean, safe, tidy and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors. You will play a vital part in ensuring our school is a healthy place to learn and work.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out general cleaning of classrooms, offices, corridors, halls, stairwells, washrooms and communal areas including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and polishing

Empty, clean and sanitise waste and recycling bins, and dispose of waste responsibly

Clean and sanitise washroom facilities, replenish consumables (soap, toilet roll, hand towels) and check for leaks or damage

Clean internal glass doors, windows and display boards as required

Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely, following all instructions, COSHH guidelines and training provided

Report any maintenance issues, damage, safety hazards or security concerns to the Premises Manager or Senior Member of Staff promptly

Ensure all cleaning equipment and stores are kept tidy, secure and in good working order

Work flexibly to cover absence or additional cleaning duties during school events, deep cleans or holiday periods as reasonably required

Adhere to all school policies, health and safety rules and safeguarding procedures at all times
Person Specification

Able to work efficiently and thoroughly with attention to detail and take pride in your work

Reliable, punctual and able to work on your own initiative and as part of a small team

Physically fit to carry out cleaning tasks including lifting, bending, climbing steps and moving equipment

Friendly, approachable and respectful towards children, staff and visitors
Safeguarding & Vetting Requirements
The successful candidate MUST hold an Enhanced DBS Check which is registered on the DBS Update Service
