NET Developer
Sheffield (Hybrid) | £40,000–£50,000 + Bonus + Private Medical
A well-established software and IT services company based near Sheffield is looking for a .NET Developer to join its growing development team.
This is a hands-on role working on bespoke systems for a range of clients. You’ll be involved across the full development lifecycle, from understanding requirements and working with existing applications through to development, testing, deployment and ongoing improvements.
You’ll work across a variety of customer systems rather than being tied to one product or codebase. A large part of the role involves picking up existing applications, understanding how they work and adapting them to suit different client requirements.
The work is primarily C# and .NET, with a strong focus on SQL. A significant amount of the current estate is built in .NET Framework, so you’ll need to be comfortable working with established systems as well as newer technology.
The company is also continuing to modernise its applications, with further work moving systems into modern .NET / .NET Core.
You’ll need commercial experience with C#, .NET and SQL, along with experience working on web applications.
You should be comfortable getting into unfamiliar codebases, solving problems independently and working across both frontend and backend development.
Experience with JavaScript, Node.js or Azure would be useful, but isn’t essential.
This could suit either an experienced developer looking for a stable, long-term hands-on role, or a strong mid-level developer ready to take on more responsibility.
£40,000–£50,000, depending on experience, plus two performance-related bonuses per year.
The package also includes private medical insurance, a 35-hour working week (9am–5pm), 24 days holiday plus bank holidays, and the Christmas to New Year period off in addition to annual leave.
Hybrid working: the office is based in the Dinnington area near Sheffield.
You’ll initially work 3 days per week in the office, reducing to 2 days per week after around 3–6 months once you’re settled into the role.
The office isn’t particularly easy to reach by public transport, so being able to drive would be beneficial.
This is a good opportunity to join a stable business with low staff turnover, work on genuinely varied software projects and have real ownership over the systems you’re developing
