Are you an organised and proactive Accounts Assistant looking for your next opportunity within a friendly, supportive finance team? Astute Recruitment is working with an established business based near Ripley to recruit a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support its day-to-day finance operations. This is a varied, hands-on role offering the opportunity to take responsibility for key sales ledger activities, assist with purchase ledger processing and support the wider finance function.
The Role:
Sales Ledger & Credit Control

Processing sales invoices and credit notes accurately and efficiently.

Posting and allocating customer payments and cash receipts.

Monitoring customer accounts and managing credit limits.
-
Chasing overdue payments and helping to maintain healthy cash flow.

Building effective relationships with customers and handling account queries.

Taking and processing customer payments.
Purchase Ledger
General Accounts & Administration
-
Maintaining accurate financial records and updating accounting systems.

Providing general administrative support to the finance team.

Assisting with ad hoc duties to support the smooth running of the department.
About You:
We're looking for someone who is organised, dependable and confident working with financial information. You'll have a proactive approach, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage your workload effectively.
Ideally, you'll bring:

Previous experience in an accounts or finance administration role.

An understanding of sales ledger, purchase ledger and credit control processes.

Good IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Excel.

Strong communication skills and a professional approach to customer and supplier queries.

Excellent organisation and attention to detail.

The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small team.
