Sewell Wallis are currently working with a well-established professional services business, based in Malton near York, that is looking for an Audio Typist to join its busy and supportive team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys producing high-quality work, takes pride in getting every detail right and likes being the person colleagues can rely on.
You'll provide accurate and efficient audio typing and administrative support, helping colleagues manage their workload and ensuring documents are produced to a consistently high standard.
If you already have experience as an Audio Typist or Secretary and you're looking for your next challenge within a professional services environment, this could be a really good fit.
What will you be doing?
You'll be providing day-to-day audio typing and administrative support, including:
-
Transcribing digital dictation accurately and efficiently.
-
Preparing, formatting and amending correspondence, reports and other documentation.
-
Producing documents using templates, standard formats and instructions from colleagues.
-
Checking completed work carefully for spelling, grammar, accuracy and presentation.
-
Prioritising urgent dictation and managing competing deadlines.
-
Handling incoming emails and other correspondence.
-
Preparing documents for review, signature and dispatch.
-
Keeping electronic and paper records accurate and up to date.
-
Carrying out copying, scanning, filing and other general administrative duties.
-

-
Handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
-
Providing cover for other members of the support team when needed. Helping the wider team run as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
You'll be expected to take ownership of your workload, communicate clearly about priorities and flag any potential issues or conflicting deadlines early.
And, of course, accuracy is key. You'll be working with important documents and detailed information, so you'll need an excellent eye for detail and take pride in getting things right the first time.
What skills are we looking for?

You'll ideally have:
-
Strong audio and copy typing skills with a fast and accurate typing speed. Excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.

-
Strong organisational and time management skills. The ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines.
-
A professional, reliable and approachable manner. The ability to work independently while supporting the wider team.

A proactive attitude – you're someone who spots what needs doing rather than waiting to be asked.
-
The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
-
Good IT skills and the confidence to learn new systems and technology.
-
The resilience to stay calm, focused and organised when things get busy.
Experience using digital dictation software or document management systems would be advantageous, but if you're confident with technology and willing to learn, don't let that put you off.

What's on offer?
-
Salary of £27,000 to £29,000.
