Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Leaving Care Personal Advisor to work with our client on a temporary basis. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The core hours are between 08:45 - 17:00, with occasional flexibility required to meet the needs of the service.
Overview:
The role of the Personal Advisor is to support Children Looked After and Care Leavers in their transition to adulthood. You will work with young people aged 16 to 25, providing support with physical and emotional health, education, employment and training, independence skills, housing and finances. You will also be responsible for working with young people to complete their pathway plan.
Main Duties:

Supporting young people aged 16–25 in their transition to adulthood

Providing guidance on physical and emotional health

Supporting young people with education, employment and training

Helping young people develop independent living skills

Providing advice and support around housing and finances

Working with young people to complete their pathway plan

Providing occasional out-of-hours support to meet the needs of the service
Essential Criteria:
-
A relevant Level 3 qualification relating to the Health and Social Care field

Previous experience in working with Children Looked After and Care Leavers

Understanding of the challenges young people may face when transitioning to adulthood

Previous experience in supporting young people to develop independence skills and access appropriate services

Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including occasional out-of-hours support
