Reception & Administration Assistant
Location: Southampton area
Salary: Equivalent to £29,000 per annum
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm
Start date: 26th October 2026
Duration: Temporary ongoing - initially 2-3 months, with the potential for longer-term opportunities
Dynamite recruitments are working in partnership with a unique and exceptional business in the Southampton area that is experiencing an exciting period of growth. As part of their continued expansion, they are looking for a confident, adaptable and customer-focused Reception & Administration Assistant to provide essential front-of-house and back-office support.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation where no two days are necessarily the same. Initially offered on a temporary basis for 2-3 months, there may be opportunities for a longer-term position for the right person.
The Role as a receptionist and Administrator
You will play a key part in ensuring the smooth running of the reception and administration function, providing a professional and welcoming service to clients, customers and colleagues.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing a busy reception desk and providing a warm, professional first point of contact.
Delivering a responsive helpdesk service to clients and customers in person, over the telephone and via email.
Completing a range of back-office administrative duties to support the wider business.
Coordinating and maintaining administrative records using Microsoft Word, Excel and internal systems.
Updating internal databases and systems accurately, ensuring information is kept up to date.
Following established processes and procedures while maintaining high standards of accuracy and organisation.
Managing competing priorities and multitasking effectively in a busy working environment.
Supporting the wider team with ad hoc administrative duties and tasks as required.
About You/ As a Receptionist / Administrator
We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and confident working in a fast-paced environment. You will ideally have previous experience in a reception, administration, customer service or helpdesk-based role and be comfortable balancing front-facing responsibilities with back-office support.
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
Good IT and systems experience, including confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel and internal databases.
Excellent customer service skills, with a professional and approachable manner.
Previous reception or front-of-house experience, alongside solid administrative skills.
A process-driven approach, with the ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records.
Adaptability and flexibility, with the confidence to respond positively to changing priorities.
Strong multitasking and organisational skills, with the ability to manage several tasks at once.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A proactive attitude, a keen eye for detail and a willingness to support wherever needed.
