An opportunity has arisen for a Composite Laminator to join our client on a contract basis, supporting a range of specialist marine projects for a world-renowned maritime lifesaving organisation.
Working within a modern composite manufacturing facility, you will carry out a variety of laminating and composite manufacturing activities on marine structures and components. This is a hands-on role involving the preparation, lay-up, repair, modification, and finishing of composite and GRP components to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have previous composite laminating experience within the marine, aerospace, automotive, or similar composite manufacturing sectors and be confident working from engineering drawings and standardised work instructions.

Carry out hand lay-up laminating using GRP and composite materials.
Prepare moulds, materials, and tooling prior to lamination.
Apply resins, reinforcement materials, and composite fabrics in line with specifications.
Undertake composite repairs, modifications, and finishing activities as required.
Trim, grind, sand, and finish laminated components to the required standard.
Assist with the manufacture and assembly of composite structures and components.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
Conduct quality inspections to ensure work meets required standards.
Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and housekeeping.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve production and project deadlines.

Assist with the manufacture and refit of composite marine structures and assemblies.

Conduct quality checks to ensure work meets production and engineering standards.
Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and housekeeping.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve project and production deadlines.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Composite Laminator, GRP Laminator, or Composite Technician.
Experience with hand lay-up laminating techniques and composite materials.
Ability to carry out composite repairs and refurbishment work.
Experience working with large composite structures and assemblies.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Marine industry experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
Contract Details
Current contract until end of January 2027
42 hours per week
Start time: 07:00 or 07:30
PAYE: £17.50/h plus £2.11 per hour holiday pay
Umbrella: £23.44/h
