Derby Pride Academy is a specialist school dedicated to supporting children and young people with additional learning needs within a nurturing, inclusive, and aspirational environment. We are looking to appoint a committed and proactive Teaching Assistant to join our team and support our pupils in achieving their full potential both academically and socially.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs. You will play a key role in helping students access learning, develop confidence, and build the skills needed for greater independence.
Key Responsibilities
Support students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups across the school.
Assist teachers in delivering engaging, differentiated learning activities.
Support pupils in achieving their individual learning goals and EHCP outcomes.
Promote positive behaviour and encourage social and emotional development.
Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
Support students with a range of communication, sensory, and learning needs.
Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies.
Follow safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare of all students.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs.
A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to remain calm and adaptable when supporting pupils with additional needs.
A genuine commitment to inclusion and pupil development.
An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
