Kenton Black are seeking a permanent Construction Administrator to join their client’s growing team in Angus.
The company, a well-established local building contractor, is looking to appoint an organised and proactive Construction Administrator to support the day-to-day operations of their busy maintenance and construction division. Working closely with site teams, suppliers, clients, and management, this role will play a key part in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently across a wide range of maintenance and refurbishment works for local authority clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage incoming telephone calls, emails, and general enquiries from clients, suppliers, and site personnel
- Process and schedule work orders, ensuring all information is accurately recorded and communicated to relevant teams
- Coordinate the procurement and purchasing of construction materials, plant, and equipment
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations, place orders, and monitor deliveries
- Manage logistics and delivery schedules to ensure materials arrive on site in line with programme requirements
- Provide administrative support to site managers and operational teams across multiple projects
- Maintain project documentation, records, purchase orders, and work trackers
- Assist with client reporting and ensure maintenance contracts are delivered in accordance with agreed requirements
- Support the smooth day-to-day running of construction and maintenance projects for local authority and public sector clients
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and document control processes
What You Bring:
- Previous experience within a construction, engineering, maintenance, or property environment
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience processing work orders, scheduling works, or coordinating maintenance activities would be advantageous
- Good commercial awareness with experience of purchasing materials and liaising with suppliers
- Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work independently while maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- A proactive and adaptable approach with strong attention to detail
