Operations Trainer / Assessor
Location - Scotland (with travel to UK sites)

What will you be doing?
•Delivering training, assessment and development programmes across operational sites, mainly in Scotland
•Assuring the competence of staff and contractors in safety critical and Asset Technical roles on COMAH regulated sites
•Coaching and standardising Assessors, and leading the Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) process
•Coordinating and managing the apprenticeship programme
•Supporting the implementation and expansion of the Competence Management System
•Identifying training needs following failed assessments and working with stakeholders to close the gaps
•Delivering in-house training and measuring how effective it is
•Helping Terminal Managers update operating manuals, procedures and training material
•Making sure training is in place before new equipment is commissioned on capital projects
Where you'll be doing it?
You'll be joining an organisation working in the Major Accident Hazard industry. They manage the operation and maintenance of a number of UK Oil Terminals and oversee strategic assets owned by the MOD.
The role is focused primarily on sites in Scotland. There will be regular travel to UK sites with some overnight stays, and occasional overseas travel.
What you'll need:
•Experience as an Operations Trainer / Assessor within a Major Accident Hazard industry
•Strong knowledge of competence management systems and competency-based assessment
•Minimum Level 4 qualification in Training and Development
•Minimum Level 4 qualification in an operational (process) or engineering discipline
•A1 Assessor and V1 IQA qualifications (or equivalent)
•IOSH Working Safely (or equivalent)
•Train the Trainer qualification or relevant experience as a trainer
•Knowledge of apprenticeship levy and external funding arrangements
•Project management skills
•Confidence engaging at all levels, including auditors, regulators and contractors
•Full UK driving licence
