Electronics Inspector
Salary: £27,000-£33,000
Location: Hemel Hempstead
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electronics Inspector to join our electronics manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting populated PCB assemblies, cable harnesses, and complete electronic unit assemblies to ensure all products meet the required quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in PCB inspection, with a strong understanding of electronic manufacturing processes and the ability to carry out detailed, component-level inspections. Experience in AOI inspection and PCB production would be advantageous but is not essential.
Key Responsibilities - Electronics Inspector
Inspect populated Surface Mount (SM) and conventional PCB assemblies to component level.
Inspect cable assemblies, wiring harnesses, and complete electronic unit assemblies.
Carry out full first-off inspections and approve PCB assemblies, cables, and units before production runs.
Identify, record, and report defects, providing constructive feedback to production operators.
Use fine tools and optical inspection equipment to carry out detailed quality inspections.
Support the Surface Mount department with additional inspection checks when required.
Complete quality documentation and maintain accurate inspection records.
Ensure products meet the required quality standards and production specifications.
Pack finished goods for local and UK shipments.
Work efficiently to meet production deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Required Skills & Experience - Electronics Inspector
Extensive experience in PCB inspection within an electronics manufacturing environment.
Ability to inspect populated PCB assemblies to component level.
Experience inspecting cable harnesses, cable assemblies, and electronic unit assemblies.
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Confident using fine tools and optical inspection equipment.
Good organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently to deadlines.
A reliable, methodical, and self-motivated approach to work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills and the ability to complete quality paperwork accurately.Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience with Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems.
Previous experience in PCB production.
Knowledge of quality management systems.
Experience reworking electronic assemblies.
Working Hours & Benefits
Permanent, full-time position.
40 hours per week.
Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Friday: 8:00 am - 2:00 pm.
30-minute lunch break.
Overtime frequently available, paid at time and one-third.
Annual profit-sharing scheme, subject to business circumstances and eligibility, with a minimum of 12 months' service required.
