Jacob Grey are exclusively partnered with a Woking based manufacturing SME to appoint a new Financial Controller/Head of Finance.

Reporting to the MD and CFO your duties will include a range of day to day finance operations as well as extensive business partnering and commercial finance:

Responsible for the day-to-day finance operations, running of the finance department, and providing timely, accurate reporting

Managing and developing a team of 3 people

Ultimate responsibility for multiple entities totalling circa £20m T/O

Monthly management accounts consolidation and reporting to the Board with variance analysis and detailed commentary

Statutory/Year End Accounting including liaising with auditors

Annual Budgeting
-
Cashflow forecasting and updates
-
Intercompany accounting and reconciliations

Building dynamic forecasting models (3 year and 5 year)

Inventory / Stock accounting / WIP

Overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Credit Control

Introducing/maintaining robust internal controls

Liaising with banks/external bodies where applicable

Undertaking various ad hoc financial projects such as opening of new sites/locations (costing/tracking, etc)

Introducing and streamlining existing finanical processes

Business partnering with senior leaders regarding budgets, projects, costs, etc

Financial planning and analysis — could include cost base reviews, margin reviews, pricing reviews, ad hoc projects, etc
Experience required
The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with an exemplary track record in a similar job/industry.
Essentially your role will be a trusted aid to the MD and a business partner to the Board. Someone with a commercial/analytical mind who can put meaning behind the numbers, scrutinise anomalies, delve into the business, and ultimately seek ways to drive growth and profit. You will be full of initiative, 'own the job' and possess a friendly, upbeat nature.
You will also be an excellent leader of people, able to maximise an individual’s potential as well as manage them day to day. Being IT savvy and having strong knowledge of Excel is also important.
Multi currency exposure, opening of new sites, exposure to tax would be advantageous but not essential.
