We are looking for an experienced Plater to join our client on a temp to perm basis, with an established Engineering company at their site in Worsley. They operate across multiple industries, offering the opportunity to work on a variety of projects for high profile clients in a collaborative team environment, with plenty of overtime available.
Pay & Hours: £17.50/hr, 38 hrs/week (Mon–Thu 7:00–17:00)
Overtime optional: Fri £26.25/hr | Sat first 5 hrs £26.25/hr, thereafter £35.00/hr | Sun £35.00/hr
Plater Key Responsibilities:

Read, interpret and work from detailed technical fabrication drawings and specifications.

Mark out, cut, prepare and shape medium to heavy-gauge steel components and structural steelwork sections.

Carry out fabrication and assembly work to the required specifications and quality standards.

Prepare and shape plate and section ready for welding and final assembly.

Cut, shape and join plate metal, steel and aluminium.

Inspect and quality check completed work to ensure it meets project requirements.

Maintain equipment and small tools used for assembly, welding and calibration.
Plater Requirements:

Ideally time served through an apprenticeship or equivalent hands on experience as a Plater.

Must have 4 years' experience or more as a Plater.

Experience working with heavy gauge materials within a fabrication workshop.

Competent in the use of grinders, cutting equipment and workshop machinery.

Confident reading, interpreting and understanding technical fabrication drawings.

Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail and capable of checking the quality of your own work.

Reliable, with good timekeeping and attendance.

Effective communicator with colleagues and supervisors.
