Learning Support Assistant - Primary School
UK School Experience Required | Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities
Aspire People are recruiting Learning Support Assistants to support pupils across primary schools.
This role is ideal for candidates who have previous experience working within a UK school but do not hold a formal Teaching Assistant qualification.
You do not need to be Level 2 or Level 3 qualified for this position, but previous UK school experience is essential.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils within the classroom
- Providing 1:1 and small-group learning support
- Assisting teachers with classroom activities
- Supporting pupils with additional learning needs
- Helping children stay engaged and focused
- Supporting behaviour and positive classroom routines
- Assisting with interventions and differentiated activities
- Supporting pupils during transitions and less structured times
- Working alongside teachers and other support staff
- Feeding back on pupil progress and any concerns
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working within a UK school is essential
- Teaching Assistant qualification is not required
- Experience supporting children in a classroom environment
- Confident working with primary-aged pupils
- Patient, reliable and approachable
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Able to follow teacher direction while using initiative
- Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
