THE ROLE
As an Experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor, you will be responsible for accurately assessing accident-damaged vehicles, preparing repair estimates and ensuring the correct repair methods, labour requirements and parts are identified. You'll work closely with the wider bodyshop team to ensure repairs are accurately planned, efficiently managed and completed to professional industry and manufacturer standards.
Key Responsibilities:
·Inspect and assess accident-damaged vehicles, accurately identifying damage and required repairs
·Prepare detailed repair estimates covering labour, parts and appropriate repair methods
·Identify additional damage and prepare supplements where required
·Liaise with customers, insurers and relevant stakeholders throughout the repair process
·Work closely with Panel Technicians, MET Technicians, Paint Technicians and Workshop Controllers
·Ensure estimates and repair plans comply with manufacturer repair methods and industry standards
·Monitor repair progress and communicate any changes or additional requirements to the relevant teams
·Maintain accurate records while ensuring quality, safety and compliance standards are consistently met
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for an experienced and detail-focused Vehicle Damage Assessor who can accurately assess vehicle damage and produce professional, commercially sound repair estimates.
·Proven experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor, VDA or Estimator within an accident repair centre or bodyshop
·Strong knowledge of vehicle construction and modern accident repair methods
·Experience assessing vehicle damage and preparing accurate repair estimates
·Strong understanding of Panel, MET and Paint repair processes
·Experience using automotive estimating systems and repair methods
·Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
·Strong communication and customer service skills
·Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced bodyshop environment and manage competing priorities
·Strong commercial awareness, organisation and problem-solving skills
·IMI and/or ATA qualifications advantageous but not essential
·Full UK Driving Licence preferred
