Pay Rate: £14.35 per hour
Hours: 48 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Alternating shifts, Monday–Friday with alternate Saturdays
Job Type: Full-time

The role operates on an alternating two-week shift pattern:
Week 1
Week 2
Breaks: 30 minutes unpaid daily.
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking Multi Skilled Operative (MSO) to join our team at Aldridge.
Working within a busy Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) and yard environment, you will play an important role in the safe and efficient operation of mobile plant and machinery, supporting the movement, handling and processing of recyclable materials.
Key Responsibilities

Safely operate mobile plant and machinery, including Wheeled Loading Shovel, Forklift Truck (FLT), Telehandler and Clamp Truck, where trained and authorised.

Move, load, unload and feed recyclable materials onto conveyors and balers.

Help maintain continuous site operations and minimise material contamination.

Complete daily pre-use checks and inspections of plant and equipment.

Carry out basic operator maintenance and keep machinery clean and in good working order.

Identify and promptly report defects, damage, near misses and maintenance issues to the Team Leader or Account Manager.

Support safe traffic management and ensure appropriate segregation of vehicles and pedestrians.

Assist with general site duties and housekeeping.

Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment at all times.

Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and site rules.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
-
Experienced in operating mobile plant or machinery.

Ideally experienced within recycling, waste management, manufacturing or another industrial environment.

Essential: Valid Telehandler licence/certificate.

Wheeled Loading Shovel, FLT or Clamp Truck licences are desirable.

Safety-conscious with a strong understanding of workplace Health & Safety.

Reliable, hardworking and able to work independently when required.

A good communicator and team player.

Flexible and able to work the required rotating shift pattern, including alternate Saturdays
