A local authority in the South West is looking for an experienced Community Safety Officer to lead its response to anti-social behaviour and community safety concerns. You'll manage a caseload, take formal enforcement action where it's needed, and work closely with police, housing providers and other partners to resolve problems.
The role involves site visits at least three days a week, so you'll need to live within a reasonable distance.
What you'll be doing

Leading the response to ASB and community safety concerns, giving specialist advice, overseeing case management and coordinating operational work

Responding to complaints and service requests about community safety, ASB and safeguarding

Taking formal enforcement action, including Community Protection Warnings and Notices, ASB injunctions and Closure Orders

Attending court for injunction applications and Closure Orders, and supporting housing association possession proceedings

Giving advice and guidance to members of the public

Taking part in community engagement events and multi-agency enforcement campaigns

Working with police, housing associations, fire, health, social care and other local authorities

Attending partnership meetings, such as police liaison meetings, Community Safety Partnership (CSP) groups, multi-agency case meetings and ASB Case Reviews
What we're looking for

Community safety or ASB experience in a local authority or housing association

Hands-on experience of CPWs/CPNs, injunctions and Closure Orders

Experience of preparing cases for court and giving evidence

Good working knowledge of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014

Strong people skills and a practical, problem-solving approach

Full driving licence and access to a car
