Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Hourly Rate: £15.00 to £16.00 per hour
Location: Beverley, East Yorkshire
We are working on behalf of a well-established Further Education college in Beverley that is looking to expand its Learning Support team.
The college provides a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for young people and adult learners across a wide range of vocational and academic programmes. We are seeking Learning Support Assistants who can help students build confidence, independence and the skills they need to progress within education and beyond.
Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available, making this suitable for candidates looking for regular hours as well as those requiring greater flexibility.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching and support teams across the college, providing classroom, small group and individual support depending on the needs of students.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting students with their learning and wellbeing
• Providing 1:1 and small group support where required
• Supporting students with SEND and additional learning needs
• Working alongside tutors to help students access their learning
• Encouraging independence, confidence and engagement
• Building positive and professional relationships with students and colleagues
• Helping to create an inclusive and supportive college environment
We are keen to hear from experienced Learning Support Assistants and Teaching Assistants, alongside candidates with relevant experience from SEND, youth work, care, mentoring, pastoral support or similar environments.
You will need to be approachable, patient and adaptable, with the confidence to work with students who may require different levels of support.
These positions offer an excellent opportunity to develop your experience within Further Education. For the right candidates, there is also the possibility of progressing into a permanent position directly with the college partnership.
