About the Home
We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and well-established residential care home in Dorking, Surrey, providing support for up to 44 residents.

The Role
As an Activities Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning and delivering a varied programme of activities that encourages residents to remain active, socially connected and engaged in daily life.
You will get to know residents individually, taking the time to understand their interests, hobbies, abilities and preferences so that activities can be tailored to suit different needs.
The successful candidate will bring energy, creativity and enthusiasm to the role, helping to create a lively and stimulating environment where residents can enjoy meaningful experiences.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Planning and coordinating a varied programme of activities
Organising activities to suit residents’ individual interests, abilities and preferences
Encouraging residents to participate in social and recreational activities
Organising group activities, games, crafts, music and entertainment
Supporting trips and outings where appropriate
Organising seasonal celebrations and special events
Encouraging residents to maintain existing hobbies and interests
Supporting residents to remain socially connected within the community
Spending time getting to know residents and understanding what is important to them
Working with care staff to ensure activities are appropriate for individual needs
Encouraging independence, confidence and participation
Keeping activity records and maintaining an organised programme
Building positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues
Creating a warm, engaging and inclusive atmosphere
About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative Activities Coordinator who genuinely enjoys spending time with older people and creating opportunities for them to enjoy meaningful and stimulating experiences.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience organising activities, events or social programmes, ideally within a care setting
A creative, enthusiastic and outgoing personality
Genuine passion for supporting older people
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to engage with people from different backgrounds and with varying abilities
Good organisational and time-management skills
Ability to plan and manage a varied programme of activities
A flexible and person-centred approach
Ability to work independently while also being part of a wider team
Creativity and willingness to introduce new ideas
A warm, patient and encouraging approach
