Actio Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering company based in Bristol who are looking for an experienced Gear Cutter to their growing manufacturing team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected engineering business in Bristol. The successful candidate will have experience setting and operating gear cutting machinery and be capable of producing precision components to tight tolerances.
The Role
-
Setting and operating gear cutting machines
-
Manufacturing gears and precision-engineered components to specification
-
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
-
Carrying out quality inspections using measuring equipment

Performing tool changes and basic machine maintenance
-
Ensuring all work is completed to required quality standards and production schedules

Working closely with the production and quality teams
Requirements
-
Previous experience as a Gear Cutter, Gear Machinist, or similar role

Experience with hobbing, shaping, or gear cutting machinery
-
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
-
Knowledge of precision engineering practices and tolerances
-
Experience using inspection and measuring equipment

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Apprenticeship or engineering qualifications advantageous but not essential
