We are delighted to be recruiting for a Finance & Payroll Assistant to join a well-established and growing business based in Grantham.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys combining payroll with day-to-day finance responsibilities and wants to become a valued member of the team. You’ll initially provide support across the Finance & Payroll function, with plenty of opportunity to develop your skills, take on additional responsibility and progress within the business.
And with flexible working and part-time hours available, the role can be tailored to suit the right candidate.
The role.
Payroll:

Support the weekly payroll process, ensuring it is accurate and completed on time.

Check, validate and consolidate weekly timesheets.

Calculate statutory payments including SSP, SMP and SPP.

Process pension contributions and auto-enrolment.

Submit PAYE information to HMRC.

Produce payslips and payroll reports.

Deal confidently and professionally with employee payroll queries.
Purchase Ledger:

Process, code and post supplier invoices.

Reconcile supplier statements.
-
Process company credit card transactions.
-
Prepare BACS payment runs.
-
Maintain and reconcile petty cash.
Sales Ledger & Finance:

Process customer invoices, credit notes and statements.

Post customer receipts and allocate payments.
-
Assist with credit control activities when required.

Maintain accurate customer records.
-
Support month-end activities, including reconciliations and ledger reporting.
The ideal candidate:
Will have previous experience across payroll, purchase ledger and sales ledger, along with a good understanding of HMRC legislation, pensions and statutory payments.
Experience with Sage Payroll, Sage 50 or similar accounting software would be advantageous.

We would also love to hear from candidates with a Finance or Payroll background and/or relevant qualifications who are keen to develop their experience. Full support and on-the-job learning will be available, working closely with the existing Finance & Payroll team.
Benefits:

£26,500 – £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Full-time: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
