Looking for a Planning Role Where No Two Days Are the Same?
We're working with a leading fresh food manufacturer supplying major UK retailers, producing a wide range of short shelf-life products in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. With over 100 SKUs, nine production lines and a 24/7 operation, planning is at the heart of ensuring customers receive product on time while minimising waste and maximising availability.
As a result of continued growth, they're looking to strengthen their planning team with the appointment of an experienced Production Planner.
The Role
This is a hands-on planning position where you'll be responsible for balancing customer demand, production capability, raw material availability and inventory levels in a business where some products can move from production to customer on the very same day.
Working under tight deadlines, you'll manage multiple priorities simultaneously and play a key role in ensuring production plans remain achievable and customer service levels are maintained.
Key responsibilities include:
Creating and adjusting production plans to meet changing customer demand.
Managing finished goods and raw material inventory.
Raising, monitoring and updating orders and stock requirements.
Working closely with production, procurement and warehouse teams to ensure product availability.
Monitoring stock levels and helping minimise waste across short shelf-life product categories.
Maintaining planning data and reporting tools.
Identifying potential supply issues and resolving them before they impact customers.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced planner who thrives in a fast-moving environment and enjoys solving problems before they become issues.
You'll ideally bring:
Experience within Production Planning, Supply Chain Planning, Materials Planning or Inventory Planning.
Previous experience within food manufacturing, fresh produce, chilled food or another fast-paced FMCG environment.
Strong Excel skills, including the ability to manipulate data, work with tables and troubleshoot formulas.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot inconsistencies in data.
Experience working under pressure and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
A proactive approach with the confidence to challenge and resolve issues quickly.
ERP or MRP system experience would be advantageous, although Excel remains the primary planning tool.
Why Apply?
Join a stable and growing food manufacturer with a strong reputation in the sector.
Work in a friendly, collaborative planning team.
Enjoy a varied role with real responsibility and autonomy.
Be part of a business continuing to invest in its people, systems and future growth.
Competitive salary of up to £36,000 plus benefits.
Working Pattern: 06:00-16:00 | 3 On, 2 Off, 2 On, 3 Off
