We are looking for an experienced dispatcher to join our vehicle recovery control room.
Previous experience allocating live jobs to drivers or mobile teams is essential. Your experience could come from taxi operations, courier services, logistics, transport, roadside assistance or another busy dispatch environment.
You will manage incoming recovery jobs, allocate them to suitable drivers and technicians, and adjust the schedule as availability, locations and priorities change throughout the day.
You do not need previous vehicle recovery experience. Training will be provided on our operation, vehicle capabilities and systems.
Key Responsibilities

Accept incoming jobs from motoring organisations and enter accurate job details.

Allocate live jobs to drivers and technicians based on location, availability, vehicle capability and current workload.

Monitor job progress and vehicle locations using GPS and dispatch systems.

Reallocate jobs when delays, urgent requests or changes in availability occur.

Keep customers and motoring organisations updated with realistic ETAs.

Handle calls from customers, drivers and technicians.

Maintain accurate job records and provide a clear handover to the night shift.

Work closely with the wider control room and operations team.
Essential Experience and Skills

Previous hands-on experience in dispatch or live job allocation.

Experience coordinating drivers and managing several active jobs at once.

Ability to make practical decisions quickly and adapt when plans change.

Strong organisation and prioritisation skills.

Clear communication and a professional telephone manner.

Confidence using computer systems, with experience of dispatch software or vehicle tracking tools.

Ability to stay calm and work effectively in a busy team environment.
Desirable

Experience in vehicle recovery, roadside assistance or the motor industry.
