Finance & Accounts Administrator / Bookkeeper
Full-time preferred | Part-time considered | Flexible depending on experience
We are looking for an experienced and organised Finance & Accounts Administrator / Bookkeeper to take responsibility for the day-to-day finance function and provide accurate, timely financial information and support to the business.
This is a hands on role covering bookkeeping, purchase and sales ledger, invoicing, credit control, reconciliations, expenses, VAT and general finance administration.
The role would suit an AAT qualified or part-qualified finance professional, ACCA part-qualified candidate, or someone with strong relevant experience who is confident working independently and taking ownership of their responsibilities.
The Role
You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the smooth running of the finance function.
Key responsibilities will include:

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records

Managing purchase and sales ledgers

Raising sales invoices and processing purchase invoices

Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable

Monitoring outstanding customer accounts and carrying out credit control

Processing supplier payments and payment runs
-
Processing and reconciling company and staff expenses

Carrying out regular bank and balance sheet reconciliations

Assisting with or preparing VAT returns

Assisting with monthly management accounts and financial reporting

Monitoring cash flow and outstanding debts

Investigating and resolving financial discrepancies

Liaising with customers, suppliers, banks and external accountants

Providing financial information and support to senior management

Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation

Ensuring finance processes and records are accurate, timely and compliant

Providing general finance and administrative support as required
We are looking for someone who is:

AAT qualified or part-qualified, ideally Level 3 or Level 4, ACCA part-qualified, or qualified through relevant experience

Experienced in bookkeeping, accounts or finance administration

Ideally has 2–3+ years' relevant experience

Confident with purchase and sales ledgers, reconciliations and day-to-day bookkeeping

Experienced in or familiar with VAT and management accounts

Experienced using Sage Online or Xero Online

Highly competent with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Accurate and exceptionally detail oriented

Well organised and able to manage competing priorities

Comfortable working independently and taking ownership

Confident communicating with customers, suppliers and professional advisers

Professional, discreet and trustworthy
