Occupational Therapist – Urgent Response Team
Location: Colindale, London Rate: £34.31 per hour Umbrella Contract: Locum / Agency Service: Urgent Response Occupational Therapy
We are recruiting an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a busy Urgent Response OT team covering the London Borough of Barnet.
This role is ideal for an OT with strong manual handling and moving & handling assessment experience who is confident working autonomously and responding to urgent and complex situations.
Key Responsibilities

Complete urgent Occupational Therapy and Moving & Handling Risk Assessments.

Assess and manage high-risk transfers and manual handling situations.

Respond to safeguarding concerns relating to equipment and manual handling.

Assess individuals who are unable to safely transfer, mobilise or use stairs.

Recommend appropriate equipment and care arrangements to reduce risk.

Complete assessments where equipment is unavailable, inappropriate or no longer suitable.

Assess requests to increase care from single-handed to double-handed care.

Undertake visits across the London Borough of Barnet.

Participate in one duty OT day per week.

Work collaboratively with service users, carers and health and social care professionals.
About You

Qualified Occupational Therapist with current HCPC registration.

Excellent manual handling and moving & handling experience.

Confident working independently and making professional decisions.

Experience working within a fast-paced community or urgent response environment.

Strong risk assessment and safeguarding awareness.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Positive, proactive approach and ability to work effectively within a small team.

Driving is desirable due to borough-wide visits.
