ESI Inspector
Huddersfield + UK Travel
Permanent | Monday to Friday | 39 hours per week
We’re recruiting for an experienced ESI Inspector to join a well-established engineering business based in Huddersfield.
This is a varied role combining workshop-based inspection with travel to customer sites across the UK. You’ll be responsible for inspecting, testing and repairing specialist electrical and safety equipment, ensuring it meets the required safety, quality and legislative standards before being certified for continued use.
You’ll be working with equipment including HV and LV portable earthing equipment, overhead line earthing equipment, fibreglass rods, fall protection equipment and equipment manufactured from rope or webbing.
As part of the role, you’ll carry out detailed inspections to identify defects, damage or non-compliance, complete repairs where appropriate and produce accurate inspection reports and certification records using an electronic reporting system.
You’ll also spend time on customer sites, so we’re looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, managing their own workload and representing the business professionally.
We’re particularly interested in candidates with experience in lifting equipment inspection, LOLER inspection, fall protection, height safety, electrical safety equipment or a similar specialist inspection environment.
A LEEA qualification or equivalent would be highly advantageous, along with experience of LOLER inspections. A full UK driving licence is essential due to the travel involved, and there will be occasional overnight stays.
This could suit someone currently working as a Lifting Equipment Inspector, LOLER Inspector, LEEA Engineer, Inspection Engineer, Height Safety Inspector, Test & Inspection Engineer or Service Engineer who is looking for a role with a strong mix of technical work, customer interaction and autonomy.
The company offers 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, life assurance at four times salary and a permanent Monday-to-Friday working pattern.
If you have a background in specialist equipment inspection and would like to hear more, please apply or get in touch for a confidential discussion
