Central Recruitment is working with a London-based charity dedicated to preventing homelessness and supporting individuals to rebuild their lives.
Our client is currently recruiting for a Caseworker to join a Tenancy Sustainment Team working across London, supporting people aged 18+ who are recovering from homelessness and may have a range of support needs. The role focuses on providing tenancy sustainment and floating support, helping clients maintain their accommodation and move towards greater independence.
Please note: This is a hybrid working role which involves working from the office in King Cross, supporting clients across the community and occasionally working from home. Work related travel expenses will be reimbursed. This role involves lone working.
Key responsibilities:

Hold a caseload of 25 key clients and undertake key working sessions

Co-produce strengths-based and outcome-focused support, safety and move-on plans with clients, engaging clients in assessment and planning of their support needs

Assess client risk and develop risk management strategies with the client, housing provider, and other services delivering support to clients

Work with a range of agencies to ensure clients have access to relevant statutory and non-statutory services and benefits, and accompanying clients at appointments where appropriate

Identify and assess physical and mental health needs with clients, supporting clients to access health and care services, and helping clients improve their health and wellbeing

Support clients to sustain their tenancy, reduce debts and maximise their income

Support clients to identify, access and participate in internal and external activities that will enhance their quality of life e.g. such as Work, education and training opportunities, social inclusion opportunities

Take part in organising, facilitating and delivering activities, drop-in sessions or groups in response to identified client needs or as part of a project wide programme of group work

Report and action safeguarding concerns for children and adults at potential or actual risk of harm and neglect in line with Policies and relevant legislation
What we’re looking for:

Experience or understanding of appropriate approaches to working with people with a range of support needs, including mental or physical ill health, challenging behaviour, substance misuse, anti-social behaviour and/or offending

Understanding of client needs assessment, onboarding into new accommodation, and move-on planning

Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, common health issues and the barriers to health access that people experiencing homelessness may encounter

Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, housing pathways and move-on routes for people moving from supported housing to independence, including hostels, the Private Rented Sector and social housing, as well as alternative provision such as supported housing pathways and emergency accommodation

Ability to use a range of personalised assessment and support planning tools and approaches, including motivational interviewing, strengths-based and trauma-informed support, to deliver effective assessments and casework

Ability to deliver successful move-in and resettlement support to enable clients to settle into and manage their own tenancy

Ability to collaborate and work effectively in partnership with a range of service providers and agencies to establish or improve services for clients
Further requirements:
In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Current valid right to work in the UK

Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)

A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)

Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
