Business Development Manager
Location: Warrington
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (OTE £45,000)
Role: Permanent | Full-time
Good with people? Love winning new business? Know how to turn a conversation into an opportunity?
We’re looking for a confident, driven and naturally personable Business Development Manager to join a growing business in Warrington.
For this one, we’re not looking for someone from a specific industry or with a little black book of contacts. We’re much more interested in how you sell, how you communicate and what motivates you.
You could already be working in sales, business development, recruitment, account management or another customer-facing commercial role. What matters is that you enjoy speaking to people, aren’t afraid to pick up the phone, can build relationships quickly and get a genuine buzz from turning a new conversation into new business.
What will you be doing?
As Business Development Manager, you’ll have the freedom to build relationships, create opportunities and develop a healthy pipeline of new business.
This is a varied role where you won’t spend every day sitting behind a desk. You’ll be speaking with prospective customers, getting out to meetings, understanding what they need and finding the right commercial solution.
You’ll be responsible for:
Identifying and developing new business opportunities
Building a strong pipeline through proactive prospecting
Picking up the phone and starting conversations with potential customers
Meeting customers face-to-face and building strong relationships
Understanding customer needs and putting together the right solution
Following up opportunities and keeping momentum throughout the sales process
Negotiating commercials and closing new business
Working towards individual sales and revenue targets
Keeping on top of your pipeline, activity and future opportunities
Working closely with the wider team to identify new ways to grow the businessWho are we looking for?
The right Business Development Manager will be someone who is naturally proactive. You won’t need to be chased to make the next call or follow up an opportunity.
We’d love to speak to someone who:
Is confident, outgoing and comfortable starting conversations
Enjoys meeting new people and building relationships
Has a genuine new-business mindset
Gets satisfaction from winning and closing business
Is curious and asks good questions
Can listen to a customer and understand what they actually need
Is resilient enough to deal with the inevitable “no” and move onto the next opportunity
Is commercially aware and motivated by targets
Can manage their own time and workload
Wants to learn, develop and build a longer-term careerPrevious sales experience would be beneficial, but you don’t need to come from a particular sector. Attitude, personality, drive and the ability to build relationships are just as important.
What’s in it for you?
Salary up to £35,000 per annum
OTE £45,000
Pool car available for business travel
A varied mix of office-based sales and customer meetings
Training and support to learn the business
The opportunity to make the role your own
Genuine scope to develop as the business continues to growThis could be a brilliant opportunity for an ambitious Business Development Manager who wants more ownership, or for someone earlier in their sales career who is ready to step up and prove what they can do.
If you’re the type of person who sees an opportunity and thinks “I’m going to give them a call” rather than waiting for the phone to ring, we’d love to hear from you.
