Semi-Skilled Fitter
Location: Trafford Park
Salary: £17.00 – £18.00 per hour, depending on experience
Shift: 2-shift system, with flexibility to work 3 shifts when required
We are currently looking for a Semi-Skilled Fitter to join our busy manufacturing team based in Trafford Park.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who has gained practical experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment and is confident using a range of hand tools and workshop equipment.
You don't necessarily need to be a fully qualified fitter. We are looking for someone with a good mechanical aptitude, practical skills and a willingness to learn.
The Role
As a Semi-Skilled Fitter, your duties will include:

Carrying out fitting, assembly and mechanical work

Using a range of hand and workshop tools

Using torque wrenches to specified settings

Operating shot blasting equipment

Using presses and other workshop machinery

Stripping down, inspecting and reassembling components

Following engineering drawings, instructions and specifications

Checking completed work to ensure it meets quality standards

Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

Working as part of a busy manufacturing team
About You
We are looking for someone who:

Has previous hands-on experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment

Has experience using hand tools and workshop equipment

Has a practical and mechanical mindset

Is comfortable working with machinery and components

Has good attention to detail and takes pride in their work

Can follow instructions and work to set specifications

Is reliable, hardworking and willing to learn

Is flexible and able to work different shift patterns when required
Experience in areas such as machine operating, mechanical assembly, engineering production, fitting or similar manufacturing environments would be highly relevant.
Food manufacturing experience is not suitable for this role, as we are looking for candidates with hands-on experience working with machinery, components or engineering/manufacturing processes.
Shift Pattern
The role operates on a 2-shift system, however candidates must be flexible and willing to work a 3-shift pattern when required.
