We are looking for an experienced Paint Sprayer to join a busy automotive team in Eastbourne.
This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for vehicle preparation, paint application and finishing work, ensuring all repairs are completed to a high standard. You will work on a variety of vehicles and repairs, using modern paint systems and colour-matching techniques to achieve a professional finish.
The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of vehicle refinishing. You will need to be comfortable working to deadlines while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare vehicles and panels for painting, including sanding, masking, filling and priming
Accurately mix and match paint colours to manufacturer specifications and repair requirements
Apply primers, basecoats and clear coats using spray-painting equipment
Carry out SMART repairs and full vehicle resprays where required
Inspect completed work to ensure paintwork meets required quality standards
Identify and rectify paint defects, including runs, dust contamination, orange peel and colour mismatches
Maintain spray booths, paint equipment and tools in a clean and safe condition
Follow health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE and handling of hazardous substances
Work closely with other technicians to ensure efficient vehicle turnaround
Complete work within agreed timescales while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
Monitor paint and consumable stock levels and report shortages when required
Carry out final quality checks before vehicles are released
Maintain a clean, organised and professional working environment
Support colleagues with other duties where required
Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Paint Sprayer, Paint Technician or Vehicle Paint Technician within a busy bodyshop environment
Strong knowledge of modern paint systems and vehicle refinishing techniques
Experience with colour matching and paint mixing
Good understanding of vehicle preparation and paint application processes
Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
Reliable, organised and accountable for the quality of your work
Comfortable working under pressure and meeting agreed deadlines
Strong team-working skills with the ability to use initiative
Commitment to health and safety and maintaining a clean working environment
Full UK driving licence
