Everpool Recruitment is currently recruiting Functional Assessors for hybrid roles across England. You’ll use your existing clinical knowledge and assessment skills in a new way, helping to assess how health conditions affect people's everyday lives and ability to work.
What we're looking for We are currently recruiting:
Registered Adult Nurses
Mental Health Nurses
Learning Disability Nurses
Occupational Therapists
Physiotherapists
Paramedics
PharmacistsYou’ll need:
At least 1 year of recent post-registration experience in a relevant adult setting
At least 1 year of active NMC or HCPC registration
Strong communication and assessment skills
Excellent report-writing and typing skills
Good IT skills
The ability to work independently and manage your own caseloadSponsorship is not available for these roles.
PIP Functional Assessor Starting at £47,000 Increases to £48,000 after 6 months (if performance objectives are met), then again after 12 months to £49,000 plus eligibility for the bonus structure scheme (3 assessments per day)
WCA Functional Assessor Starting at £50,000 Increases to £51,000 after 12 months (if performance objectives are met) plus eligibility for the bonus scheme (5–6 assessments per day - WCA assessments are shorter than PIP)
Roles are subject to availability and service requirements in each geographical area. Ideally, candidates should be open to either PIP or WCA. Where possible, we may be able to accommodate a preference, although this cannot be guaranteed.

Paid volunteering day each yearWhat will you be doing? As a Functional Assessor, you will:
Conduct telephone, video and face-to-face assessments
Explore how health conditions affect everyday activities and work
Review medical evidence and health questionnaires
Ask detailed questions about functional ability
Produce clear, accurate and objective reports for the DWP
Make recommendations based on your assessment findingsFull training provided
Successful candidates will complete a comprehensive 12-week training programme, covering:
Assessment techniques
DWP guidelines and requirements
Report writing
Functional assessment skills
Role-specific training and supportYou don't need previous Functional Assessor experience — your clinical experience and transferable assessment skills are what matter.
