About Us:
The Stornoway Trust (SC(phone number removed)) on the Northeast of the island of Lewis is Scotland’s oldest community land trust, dating to 1923. The 69,000-acre estate is now home to 11,000 people and comprises 40 crofting townships with 1,300 crofts, 200 allotments, farmland and the Lews Castle Grounds in Stornoway.
About the role:
The newly created role of Deputy Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Estate including the Lews Castle grounds. There will also be the opportunity to support the Factor with strategic growth opportunities linked to renewable energy. This important role will build both capacity and resilience within the Trust.
We are seeking an individual with:

A good working understanding and experience of sustainable land management including crofting, woodland management and/or renewable energy.

A track record of successful tenant liaison, management of staff and contractors, lease negotiation and resource and financial management is also essential for this role.
A knowledge of Gaelic and island culture is considered desirable, as is a MRICS Chartered Surveyor qualification.
