An established specialist subcontractor operating within the commercial construction sector is looking to recruit an experienced Office Administrator to join its growing team.
This is a varied role supporting the Commercial Director, Contracts Manager and Estimating Team with the day-to-day administration of a busy construction business.
The successful candidate will need previous construction industry experience and be comfortable managing multiple priorities, liaising with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients, and keeping key company processes and documentation organised.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide administrative support to the commercial, contracts and estimating teams.
• Answer incoming calls and emails and direct enquiries appropriately.
• Manage diaries, meetings, site visits and appointments.
• Maintain company databases, documentation and filing systems.
• Support the management of company quality systems and industry accreditations.
• Assist with subcontractor procurement and placement of material orders.
• Liaise with Project Managers, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare and compile operation and maintenance manuals.
• Assist with customer pre-qualification questionnaires and company compliance documentation.
• Support vehicle administration and general office management.
• Maintain office supplies, equipment and stationery.
• Communicate with existing clients and assist with enquiries and follow-ups.
• Help prepare case studies, project updates and promotional material.
• Create and schedule basic business content across LinkedIn, Instagram and other company platforms.
Requirements
• Previous administration experience within the construction industry is essential.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical, process-driven approach.
• Confident dealing with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong general IT and typing skills.
• Good customer service and relationship management skills.
• Comfortable using LinkedIn, Instagram and other social media platforms for business purposes.
