Are you an experienced Customer Service Executive, Customer Service Coordinator or Account Coordinator who enjoys building strong relationships with customers?
Do you have experience working in a busy environment where you're responsible for customer orders, delivery schedules and keeping customers updated?
We're supporting an established manufacturing business who are looking for a Customer Service Executive to join their team on a permanent basis.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being the link between the customer and internal teams, taking ownership of enquiries and making sure orders progress smoothly from start to finish.
What's the role all about?
As the Customer Service Executive, you'll act as the main point of contact for customers when placing and progressing orders.
You'll work closely with the Production team to understand where orders are within the manufacturing process, communicate customer requirements and make sure potential shortages or delays are identified.
A big part of the role is communication. Customers need to know what's happening with their orders, so you'll be expected to provide proactive and regular updates rather than waiting for them to chase.
Alongside customer service, you'll support the day-to-day administration required to keep orders, schedules and stock requirements moving.
What will you be doing?
Act as a key point of contact for existing customers
Provide regular updates regarding current orders and delivery schedules
Liaise with Production to progress current and upcoming orders
Communicate and interpret customer requirements to the manufacturing team
Process production control documentation accurately
Identify potential shortages and ensure requirements are communicated internally
Monitor customer call-off stock requirements
Coordinate stock replenishment for manufactured and purchased items
Arrange overseas couriers when required
Maintain accurate customer and order information
Support general day-to-day Customer Service administration
Meet customers face-to-face when visiting site
Participate in customer meetings via Microsoft Teams when required
Build positive and professional relationships with customers
What do you need?
We're looking for someone with:
Previous Customer Service or client relationship experience
Experience dealing directly with customers in a professional environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word
Confidence working with data, emails and reporting
Strong administrative and organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time
Good attention to detail
GCSE Maths and English at Grade A–C or equivalent
Previous experience within manufacturing, engineering, production or supply chain would be particularly useful, although the JD does not state this as essential.
About you
You'll be someone who genuinely enjoys building relationships with customers and understands the importance of keeping people informed.
You'll be:
Proactive with your communication
Professional and calm
Empathetic and a good listener
Accurate and detail-focused
Reliable and organised
Comfortable multitasking
Able to prioritise your own workload
Confident working under pressure
Most importantly, you'll take ownership. If a customer is waiting for an order or update, you'll be comfortable speaking with the relevant internal teams, finding out what's happening and keeping the customer informed throughout.
