A specialist fire safety consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Fire Risk Assessor to join their team in Edinburgh. The successful Fire Risk Assessor will work across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial and public-sector properties throughout Edinburgh and the wider Central Belt.
The Fire Risk Assessor's Role
The appointed Fire Risk Assessor will carry out detailed fire risk assessments, identify areas of concern and provide practical recommendations to help clients meet their fire safety responsibilities.
Responsibilities will include:
Undertaking comprehensive fire risk assessments across a range of property types
Reviewing fire safety arrangements, means of escape and compartmentation
Identifying hazards, deficiencies and compliance issues
Producing clear and detailed fire risk assessment reports
Advising clients on remedial actions and fire safety priorities
Reviewing existing fire safety documentation and management procedures
Liaising with building managers, property teams and contractors
Managing site visits and workload across Edinburgh and surrounding areas
The Fire Risk Assessor
The successful Fire Risk Assessor will be required to have:
Level 4 qualification in Fire Risk Assessment
Strong experience delivering fire risk assessments independently
Good knowledge of current UK fire safety legislation and guidance
Experience across residential, commercial or complex buildings
Excellent report-writing and communication skills
Confidence dealing directly with clients and building stakeholders
A full UK driving licence
Membership of the IFE or another recognised fire safety body would be advantageous.
